Tutorial: Double Staff 8-Step CAP Recipe

I know it’s been a while since I’ve done a double staff video, but recently I had a Skype lesson with a double staff spinner who wanted to know all about 8-step CAPs and I realized that it’d make a great topic for a video! Specifically, we covered how you can create a variety of different 8-step CAPs with a very simple recipe.

August Double Staff Flow

A little bit different a taste of flow for y’all--August’s flow session is with my double staves! I’m at Burning Man this week, but wanted to still give you guys a video to enjoy. Let me know if you guys like this one and want to see more double staff work on here!

I’ve done a lot of tracery work with doubles lately and wanted to do something different with this video, playing around with conserving direction and using simpler tricks.

Modek Designs Prop Bag Review

Normally I review props and the like, but there’s a new company that’s started up with a really unique niche. It’s the brainchild of Kassandra Morrison, who’s a super talented hooper and juggler and she’s started a company producing travel bags for props.

(3)1 day(s) of flow: spring double staff compilation

Back in January, I took on the challenge of posting a video of a new trick to Instagram each and every day for 31 days (the challenge was originally for 30 days, but hey, prime numbers!). This was a fun challenge that really helped to deepen my palette of tricks with double staff and explore in depth a number of concepts that I'd only scratched the surface on or never thought to combine together before.

LA Double Style: Collaboration with Casey Houle

Last weekend I was lucky enough to have my path cross a gentleman whose work in the double staff world has been super inspiring to me in the past year. Casey Houle (JaFfi Tech on YouTube) and I ran around LA for a day trading ideas and filming what came out of it. Fun to work with a like mind--check out what we came up with :)

Fire dancing--hoop, poi, and staff with GoPro!

My first attempt at a video compilation with my new GoPro! :) A couple of these are a little hazy because I forgot to clean the lense in between takes and there was a hell of a lot of pollen in the air. Thanks so much to all the folks who let me video them! :)
