This is the 8th year for the Poi Top 10 list!

Once again, manipulation, contact, and poi juggling were heavily represented in the people who made the list with a surprising return to the world of 2-poi now definitely trending.

There was a surge in international poi spinners with 3 making the list and 2 of those in the top 3. Our number 1 this year, Beacon, has never been on the list before and clearly made an enormous impact!

This is also the most holdover the list has had in a long time with 5 of the 11 people represented here returning from the previous year. I alone remain the only poi spinner to make the list all 8 years while Tim Goddard and Chris Kelly are tied for 7 years on the list each.

I will confess some mixed feelings this year as we dropped from having 3 women represented on the list last year to only one this time around. Here's hoping my Christmas present next year will be more representation!

It should also be noted that this year saw a guerrilla voting campaign on behalf of Simon Tortuson (or "The Poi King" as many voters called him). Simon is a French contact staff spinner that I've known for years and also quite the practical joker. Unfortunatley he doesn't really spin poi and there aren't any videos of him doing so and rather than keep Cassaundra and Drew off the list I decided instead to give Simon and honorable mention.
