Mr Jennings
[mis-ter jen-ingz]
A sophisticated technique for the delivery of squidges, squooshes, bleeps, blops, and other peculiar sounds. Best administered through a wall of subwoofers at an assembly of gyrating humanoid creatures.
Sounds like: “a psychedelic after-school Satan Club for Furiosas and Lost Boys"

I first met Mr Jennings more than a decade ago when I first moved to the DC area. He was then a well-respected fire dancer and flow artist who was a huge influence on me in my first couple years in the area (including inspiring me to attend my first Firedrums!). As he grew into his career as a DJ I was also struck by his versatility and skills as a producer. So much so that when the time came for me to find a theme song for my channel I knocked on his door and he was kind enough to grant me the rights to use his song “Drip Drop Hip Hop” (which I have used ever since!).
His “Intergalactic Speakeasy” mix was a landmark in the Electroswing craze and more recently he’s been experimenting with audio collages based upon found sounds while still rooting everything in the hip hop beats that got him inspired to create music in the first place.
